Getting started
We're hoping to create an interactive weblog for Altar Guild members, covering just about everything from properly folded purificators to spirituality. If it succeeds, it will be because of our participation and willingness to post articles and add comments. So, if the idea appeals to you, do what you can to help make it work. Thanks much! John

So, here's my dilemma: How far do we "bend" in order to accomodate people? I'm thinking of the couple who brought their morning coffee to the 8:00 service recently. When do we get to say "No, that is inappropriate?" Some spaces are different and hopefully evoke different responses; this can be a very good thing. I want to be accepting and (St. Bart's favorite word) inclusive, but when do I get to say NO?

I have also seen the couple with the coffee--or maybe another couple--as well as several sipping from bottles of water. It is distracting to me in my worship, but I have tried to look in another direction and forget it, not always successfully. Surely people can go an hour without having to be hydrated!
